The number 11 fuse keeps blowing underneath the hood everytime I try to start

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
If a locksmith re-key the door would it do something to the car?
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
the car is starting but won't stay started unless foot on gas other wise will die
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

if a lock smith did rekey it properly it wouldnt start

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

the way you can tell is, if the security light goes out when cranking the car, then its fine.

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

i suppose you dont have brake lights with that fuse blowing?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Yeah I didn't notice but you're right the brake lights are not working
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

is the check engine light on?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
that is correct in the lady at AutoZone said that it also runs off of the cigarette lighter fuse but I'm not sure which one that is either
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

ok let me find that for you.

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

check any fuse that say anything about accessory socket

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Yeah okay so I checked every fuse is good accept number 11 under the hood which is what keeps blowing
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

are you sure you checked all of the interior fuse panels?

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

i know theres on on the end of the left dash, not sure any where else.

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

anyway. get at the dlc connector and check for 12vdc on pin 16

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

pic

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I've got it plugged into 16 pin without thekey turned on its reading 4.09 and when I turn the key on it reads 0.01
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

if you're in pin16 with the key off you need 12vdc or battery voltage.

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

check pins 4 and 5 for grounds

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
sorry I'm not sure what to do with the meter to check the ground do I turn it to a certain setting
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

turn it to ohms 20 range. then put a lead in pin 4 and another lead to a nearby chassis ground.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I'm putting it in pin4 and 5 and I'm not getting any reading
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

show me how you have the meter set up...shoot me a pic

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
