I have the whole dash apart & the amp is unbolted, wiring disconnected. Amp is hitting the airbag mounting tabs & the heater box, won't come out.

strange..........I have never had that issue, as I just use a Flatblade & pry the amp down between the air bag tabs

Will opt out & see if someone else can help........

thanks

Ok

Hi. Have you been able to get the amp out?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
No, & I really don't want to pull the heater box just to get it out.
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 7 months ago.

There is no need to remove the heater box. You just need to find the right angle to remove it. The glove box needs to be removed and the instrument panel lower center trim and the lower right trim panel. Then is just comes out.

I did & I have moved the amp three different ways. The crash bar and the air bag mount are very tight.

Amp on the floor is used replacement
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 7 months ago.

I remember pulling the amp out as far as possible and then bending it downwards to get it out.

Heater box is preventing me from getting it out
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 7 months ago.

I do not remember having this much of an issue getting it out.Instead of removing the box, can you try using a pry bar and bending the bracket up to gain more room?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
The airbag mount is welded solid to the crash support, it won't move even a little. I'd take a picture, but it's to dark right now
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 7 months ago.

How about loosening up the bolts that hold the dash support in and see if you can move the dash out a bit.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I can try that tomorrow.
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 7 months ago.

Ok. THere are some bolts on the drivers side. THere are 2 in the center on the bottom. There are 3 on the right hand side and you need to remove the trim under the windshield to get the remaining bolts.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Ok, already have trim out.
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 7 months ago.

Make any progress?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Not today, to much other stuff. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon.
