Hello. My name is ***** ***** I am happy to assist you today. Give me just a moment to review your post, and I'll be right back with the help you need.
Your ASD relay gets its ground from the PCM (computer) are you sure that when the wire was melted that it did not take out the PCM?
Okay then I would also check power and ground to the PCM and ohm the ASD wire from the PCM to the relay. See the steps to do this in the link below.https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/104923897/PCM%20power%20and%20ground%20Oct%2025.pdfSee the System wiring diagram in this link for testing reference .https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/104923897/ASD%20wiring%20Oct%2025.pdf
All your doing when you probe it is adding a ground . Have you check your power and ground to the PCM?
It sure sound to me like you PCM has failed if you have power to the ASD relay.
T he ASD supplies battery voltage to the fuel pump, fuel injector, ignition coil, generator field winding and oxygen (O2S) sensor heating element. The ground circuit for the coil in the ASD relay is controlled by the powertrain control module (PCM) The PCM operates the relay by switching the ground circuit on and off. Im thinking if the HO2S circuit was shoted out it caused the PCM to short out as well.
