I have replaced all the T.B. sensors including the distributor plate sensor, and crank shaft sensor, change the distributor cap & rotor along with plugs & wires and I'm still getting backfire around 2000 - 2500 rpm both in neutral & driving.
JA: Does the vehicle stall at low speeds? Does it sputter?
Customer: can stall at idle
JA: What is the model of your '00 Dodge?
Customer: 1993 dodge dakota 3.9 L V6 2wd, LE
JA: Are you fixing your Dakota yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I mention all I have done to it in my first reply
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: If you can't time this engine, why does it have timing marks by the fly wheel?

Hello and welcome to just answer and allowing me to assist you. After reading you problem it acts like it is a timing problem, there are a couple things that can cause this, fuel mixture and initial timing. Have you got any thing you can check the timing with? Also a vaccum gauge to check manifold vacuum?
