JA: Is the power loss consistent, or does it fluctuate?
Customer: fuel pump will not run, no power consisten
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2008 1500 crew short box 5.7 4x4
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes , checked codes, none checked fuel pressure none, replaced fuel pump, run power probe to test fuel pump 55psi at fuel rail.

Thank you for that information. Did you check for codes in the integrated power module? This module that is located under the hood supplies power to the fuel pump. If there is no power to the fuel pump, then check the wiring from this module to the fuel pump. If the wiring checks out good, then the integrated power distribution module is at fault. You can try to disconnect the battery and hold the cables together for 5 minutes to reset the capacitors inside the module and that might do the trick. If not, the module is bad and will need to be replaced. Here is a wiring diagram of the fuel pump circuit.

Thats correct. AFTER both are disconnected from the battery. Once the battery has been removed from the electrical system, you can hold them together.

the lighting bolt came on in dash about a month ago and I unhook the battery over night. had no problems after that.
