Ac not cooling. Started yesterday. Want to add coolant but

Customer Question

ac not cooling. Started yesterday. Want to add coolant but not sure about the location of the low side port. I think its on top of the accumulator. Also the clutch for the condenser does not engage. I guess from the low coolant. Is there a way to get around the clutch not engaging in order to add coolant and am I correct that the low side port is on top of the accumulator?
JA: Has the clutch been slipping? Are you having any trouble shifting?
Customer: No and no.
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2006 5.9 cummins
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes and nothing until I'm sure that the low side port for the a/c is in fact on top of the accumulator. I know the clutch didn't engage earlier and I'm pretty sure with too low an amount of coolant it won't engage.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Yes should be on top of the accumulator. You can jump the relay to get the compressor going.
