Hello and welcome to just answer. If you jump the terminal at the starter solenoid will it crank and if the key is on, will it crank and run?

Chris

Expert:  Chris replied 6 months ago.

Chris
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
it will only crank wont stay running
Expert:  Chris replied 6 months ago.

Hmmm, so it will crank if you jump it, actually start, but dies within a few seconds correct?

Expert:  Chris replied 6 months ago.

When you turn on the key to the run position, do you see the red security light come on for a few seconds and then go off?

Chris

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
it will just crank it wont start and yes the light goes off.
Expert:  Chris replied 6 months ago.

Ok, sounds like you may have a PCM issue. It should start when you jump the solenoid with the key is on. Do you have a scan tool or code reader available?

Expert:  Chris replied 6 months ago.

Hello? are you still here?

Chris

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
when i jump the starter and key on it should start and keep running?
Expert:  Chris replied 6 months ago.

Yes it should.

If you can get a scan tool connected, check and see if it will communicate with the PCM. If not, and you are sure that there are no blown fuses, then replace the PCM

i do have comunication no codes and all monitors are completed
Expert:  Chris replied 6 months ago.

Oh, ok, then if that is the case, you may have a failed TIPM (electronic under hood fuse box). The TIPM supplies power to many of the vehicle's electrical systems including the starter. What bothers me though is why won't it start when you jump the starter with the key on. That makes me think that the PCM is the problem.

the thing is that when i replaced the starter before i replaced it it started but didnot pay attention to it i just replaced it but a week after it did the same but now it dont start
Expert:  Chris replied 6 months ago.

At this point, it would be nice to have a scan tool that can communicate with the TIPM. Of course the dealer has one, but some high end Snap On scanners will also.

i took out the ignition switch and i have in 2 of the wires power
Expert:  Chris replied 6 months ago.

That is normal. The ignition switch does not control the power directly for all circuits. It tells the TIPM to send the power out to the control modules as needed.

Chris

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
tipm? where is this at and how will i check i read something online about corroction around the relays
Expert:  Chris replied 6 months ago.

The TIPM is the under hood fuse box, and contains electronic circuits to supply power to various electrical systems.

Chris
