Thermometer symbol comes on after use of air conditioner for

Customer Question

Thermometer symbol comes on after use of air conditioner for a while, but the temp gauge shows normal. When this symbol comes on the car makes a very screechy noise and it starts to slow down.
JA: Have you checked the Freon level?
Customer: NO. But I do turn off the air conditioner, but it still does the above. Once I pull over for say a half hr., and provided I do not turn on the air conditioner I can drive for days with no issues.
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2009 SXT
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Nothing at all. I would fix it myself if something simple. Otherwise, to the shop it goes. Just very strange in the way it behaves. I can drive for weeks with no issues, as long as I don't use the air conditioner for a long time.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: That's it

Hello and welcome to just answer. That thermometer indicator is the transmission overheat indicator. When was the last time that you had the transmission serviced?
