Customer Question

I have a 2010 Dodge Charger - I parked car last night in driveway and this morning it won't start. when I put Fob in ignition car dings but no dash, no accessories, no windows, no start. I tried jumping but no difference. I did get a new Fob 3 months ago and have had no other problem and guy who programed said fob "seems" to be OK. I also had the alternator changed 2 months ago, again with no other problem since. I checked every fuse and all test good. Very stumped......

Hi, welcome to Just Answer. I’m Ron and I’ll be helping you
today.
Before we get started though, Please understand that I don't know
your skill level or tools you have to assist us. Also understand that
I can't see, smell, hear, or touch the vehicle either, so patience is
appreciated. JA is a great Q/A site, but it does NOT replace a
repair shop.
My goal is to make you happy and get a great rating in return for
my time. Sometimes I have to give you bad news that I know you
didn’t want to hear, so please don’t shoot the messenger.

I attached some info for you about your security system and how to fix that.

Thanks, Ron

Tried the hood, door, lock, unlock - still no go. Did make me think of something.... I think, not totally sure but I think when I parked car I took fob out before putting in park. Any affect?

R u suggesting I do the "Customer Learn" procedure at end of attachment?
Expert:  rpmdiag replied 3 months ago.

If the document states that, then they recommend it.

Thanks, Ron

Only problem, I only have one key / Fob.
Expert:  rpmdiag replied 3 months ago.

You can just do one, pass by the instructions for multiple keys.

Also, battery is in trunk but there is also positive and negative connection under hood to fuse panel. Remove trunk battery leads, under hood leads or doesn't matter?
Expert:  rpmdiag replied 3 months ago.

Trunk cables.

Ron, If you r still there, most recent process u sent did not work. To be sure I did it correctly - disconnect battery, pos then neg. Touch two cables together for 10 seconds then let sit unhooked for 15 mins. Reconnect cables, pos the neg - start engine. Engine does not start, same as before. Bill

Okay Bill, it looks like we need to attach a scan tool to check it from here.

Thanks again, Ron
