Have a '98 grand caravan 5 door,3.0 engine. dash cluster

have a '98 grand caravan 5 door,3.0 engine. dash cluster stops working. all gauges quit working. odometer keeps working but does not display. can disassemble cluster and put back together to make it work. but not for long. some times it will work for quite a while, other times not long. have had dodge dealer check it out, said it was bad cluster and computer.

Hello and welcome to Justanswer!

The problem could be a connection or wiring issue but odds are the failure is internal in the instrument cluster. What usually happens is cracked solder joints will cause intermittent operation.

Remove the cluster again and remove the circuit board from the back. Locate the two rows of solder joints where the electrical connector's terminals solder to the board. Carefully resolder these two rows of joints and there is almost a 100% chance that will repair it.
