Hello and welcome. My name is ***** ***** you for visiting the site.

What sort of brake problems are you having?

Was the brake system bled out with the use of a scan tool?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.

When I press the brake pedal it engages but sinks a few inches then catches. The car will stop just not quickly.

Expert:  Jerry replied 11 months ago.

I see, thanks. Was the braking system bled out with a scan tool?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.

Not sure if it was or not.

Expert:  Jerry replied 11 months ago.

I see, thanks.

The base brake's hydraulic system must be bled anytime air enters the hydraulic system. The ABS must always be bled anytime it is suspected that the HCU has ingested air.

Unless the new master cylinder is bad, there is a good chance that there is still air in the ABS system.

You will want to bleed the HCU with the use of a scan tool to be sure.

Thanks

Customer: replied 11 months ago.

I understand but the problem began before the master cylinder was replaced. It started suddenly so are you saying air got into the system somehow?

Expert:  Jerry replied 11 months ago.

It is possible. Are there any trouble codes for the ABS system?

Expert:  Jerry replied 11 months ago.

I am sorry but after seeing your history I am no longer able to help with it. I will opt out and open it back up. Please DON’T REPLY to this post as that will lock the question back to me. someone should be along shortly, I’m sure, thanks and sorry I wasn’t able to help with it.
