Customer Question

Hi I have 04 Durango 4.7 that won't start. It won't crank. I've replaced starter. It also acts like the battery is dead but it's new and I tried another battery. I can jump the relay pins and it cranks. I show no ground on pin 85 of starter relay but I'm not sure I'm testing it right
JA: How old is the battery? Have you checked the battery gauge on the dash?
Customer: No gauge. Both batteries I tried are brand new
JA: What is the model/year of your Dodge?
Customer: 2004
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes fixing myself. New starter tested relay and jump it to make it crank
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: It did shut off the other day and had no electrical power turned key on and off few times and the power came back and it started. Right now the headlights interior lights gauge cluster and Windows won't work
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Dodge Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Yes? Did you answer my question?

Check or replace the fuse #32 in the junction block at left kick panel.

Pin #85 of that relay is the ground circuit to activate the relay, but the ground does have to pass through the pcm.
