2015 challenger r/t/ plus 5.7....when at a stop light and

2015 challenger r/t/ plus 5.7....when at a stop light and brake depressed engine tries to accelerate from idle. Also noticed coming to a stop downshifting to 1st feels very harsh. Thought might be A.C. kicking in but have been running w/o and results are the same surge prob. exists.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If the idle speed climbs with the throttle closed then it has to be a throttle body issue or a vacuum leak. Either way if RPM's climbed high enough when unintended then it will go into ETC limp in and control RPM with spark and fuel alone.

Are any fault codes setting?
