Left truck stored outside the past 1-1/2 months...just

Customer Question

Left truck stored outside the past 1-1/2 months...just recently charged nearly dead new batteries...it started and idled perfect, however after a sufficient warm up it would not run past 40km/h without experiencing serious power loss and stalling...water in fuel or does computer need to be reprogrammed due to dead battery condition??

I assume you have the diesel engine?

How many volts are the batteries showing now?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Volts are reading normal...it's the H.O. 5.9 turbo cummins

Is it possible that the air filter got wet while it was sitting? I've seen that happen before on the mid 2000s RAM. The filter gets wet and then the paper won't breathe anymore.

Also, I would add a fuel stabilizer to make sure it didn't somehow get contaminated.

Do you live in an area where rodents might have made a next somewhere?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I will check the air filter n add stabilizer...as far as rodents I'll check again as I am aware they can cause problems too

If the air filter looks ok I would change the fuel filter next.

My thoughts exactly....start first with cheaper easier fix

From there I would scan the computer for trouble codes.

If you get a p2146 or p2149 then you'll have to go after bad fuel injectors.

will do
