Good evening and welcome to JustAnswer!!

Is the battery good, and what's the voltage? Was the battery totally dead? Does anything come on?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
The battery is brand new and I checked it with a volt meter reads 12.9 dash lights. .Dome lights..nothing
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
the key fob can not be removed for some reason
Expert:  -Brad- replied 10 months ago.

Can you tell me why you replaced the battery? Was is totally dead or did something happen? Have you checked the fuses by the passenger side hood hinge?

Expert:  -Brad- replied 10 months ago.

Did you try a jump start and if so where did you connect the cables?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
All of a sudden wouldn't start...jumped it off from the studs under the hood
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
It started but I smelled a odor like melting plastic and also I just had recall work done and they replaced the alternator
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Wow just checked the old is fine reads 12 why would the battery be good and not start then when jumped off it will start weird....
Expert:  -Brad- replied 10 months ago.

Thanks for the reply!

I can just about tell you what happened.. When you jumped it off you blowed the main fuses or the ground under the alternator is not tight.. The alternator is bolted up with 3 bolts, 2 top and 1 bottom.. Well the bottom has a nut holding a ground wire tight.. Can you check it.. If it's tight I will show you where the fuses are..

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Ok which fuse should I check....the connections are all tight
Expert:  -Brad- replied 10 months ago.

Good morning and thank you for the reply!!

I attached the location for the fuses, give them a check and if you see one blown. If you have a blown fuse you will need to get a new one from your local Dodge dealership..

Glad I could help and thank you for the positive rating,

Checked all connections and fuses everything checks out dash light s and interior light come on and you can hear clicking when turning the key....jumps off and starts immediately.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Now here is something started and I turned it off and it won't restart...
Expert:  -Brad- replied 10 months ago.

Will the starter engage or not? What is the your VIN?

Expert:  -Brad- replied 10 months ago.
