Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I have noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here.

Can you tell me if you have the old points distributor or is this 318 equipped with electronic ignition? Post back with this information and I will try and help you determine the cause of the lack of spark.

Electronic. There is absolutely no spark.
Expert:  Ron replied 11 months ago.

The loss of spark you are having can be caused by any of the following,

  • Coil
  • Electronic Control Unit (ECU)
  • Pick-Up Coil

In order to determine what has failed you are going to need to do some testing. I have enclosed the steps in the link below, copy and paste the link toy our browser to open and view it.
