how do you remove the third row seat from a 2010 dodge journey I need to remove the rear struts.

Hello, what engine does this journey have and does it have 3rd row seating?

It has a 3.5l V6 engine. It is the third row seating that I need to know how to remove in order to replace the rear suspension struts.

Ok is it a Crew, R/tT or ST model? all wheel drive? Sorry there are a few different options for the body style

  1. Remove the headrest.
  2. Slide seat forward.
  3. Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the seat belt anchor trim.
  4. Remove both rear seat adjuster bolts.
  5. Remove seat belt anchor bolt attaching seat belt to seat.
  6. Slide seat rearward.
  7. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  8. Remove both front seat adjuster bolts.
  9. Disconnect all electrical connectors.

    CAUTION: Caution should be taken not to handle seat by adjuster release bar when removing spring loaded seat from vehicle.

  10. Remove front seat from vehicle.

Access and remove the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Body/Interior/PANEL, Quarter Trim - Removal

  1. Move insulation out of the way to access the shock assembly upper mounting nuts.

  2. Remove the two nuts (1) securing the shock assembly to the body bracket (2).
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Quick Reference/Hoisting - Standard Procedure

  4. Remove the wheel mounting nuts (3), then the rear tire and wheel assembly.

  5. If equipped with load-leveling shocks, support the lower shock (1) with a jack (2) using just enough force to allow easy removal of the lower shock mounting bolt in the following step. Lower the jack following bolt removal.

  6. Remove the lower shock mounting nut (1) and bolt (4).
  7. Lower the shock assembly (2) out of the body bracket and lift out over rear suspension.
