Horn blows all the time, had to pull fuse

Customer Question

horn blows all the time, had to pull fuse

Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be helping you today.

Usually this is either the horn switch or the front control module. The horn relay is built into the module and sometimes gets stuck.

Do you have a scan tool capable of communicating with the front control module and do you have a multimeter?

No

Horn switch in the air bag?
Expert:  Wayne Crawford replied 1 year ago.

Its attached to the airbag. You dont have to replace the whole airbag.

I should isolate this first?
Expert:  Wayne Crawford replied 1 year ago.

I would recommend checking it first but without any testing tools you cant do it. Replacing the switch is a possibly dangerous job too.. you could accidentally deploy the airbag. I would think it may be best to let a pro handle this one if you have no testing tools and given the inherent dangers of working with airbags. A proper diagnoses probably wont cost much more than the tools to check it yourself.

Where is horn module located
Expert:  Wayne Crawford replied 1 year ago.

There is no horn module. Just the switch attached to the back of the driver side airbag.
