Just put in a new in tank fuel pump in 2003 cummins, lift

Customer Question

Just put in a new in tank fuel pump in 2003 cummins , lift pump next to filter canister is gone somebody added aftermarket pump by frame rail which is out .The problem is that I don't have power to harness at the tank. There is current on floater prongs but not on prongs to power the new in tank pump. What am I missing?
Ps. I checked several harnesses for rust , and no problem.
Thanks

Hello and welcome to just answer. Whoever installed the after market lift pump on the frame rerouted that circuit from the filter mounted pump to the aftermarket one. No worries. Is the power to the aftermarket one still there?

still there.

Ok good. What you can do is to tap into that wire and then run anew wire up to the in tank fuel pump connector and connect it (solder and shrink tube) to the wire. That should work just fine.
