Hi There, I'm Clayso a certified master automobile technician with 30 years of automotive repair and diagnostic experience.
-
P2121 most commonly sets for the Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor system. The APP sensor itself maybe at fault as can the connector and the wiring to the APP sensor. I have also seen the throttle position sensor set the same diagnostic trouble code.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Should you have any questions please let me know.

Thanks. The following is the diagnostic procedure for the APPS and the TPS.

-

Test the voltages at the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS). The Violet/Black wire should be 0 volts at closed throttle, 5-12 volts off idle. The White wire should be 5-12 volts at closed throttle and 0 volts off idle. The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) signal should be 0.5 volts at closed throttle and the voltage should increase as the throttle is opened up to about 3.8 volts at wide open throttle.

-

Defective APPS are common from aftermarket parts suppliers.

-

Let me know how this works out for you.

Thanks
