Hello and welcome to just answer. Have you checked to see if the ASD relay is supplying voltage to the ignition coil at key on for 2 seconds?

Chris

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

i checked the two wires going to coil with key on engine off. I had 9 volts on one and 5 volts on the other

Expert:  Chris replied 1 year ago.

Are you checking it while turning the key on? There should be 12 volts for only 2 seconds at key on.

Chris

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

yes i get battery voltage at coil on green wire w/ orange strip for two seconds. yes

Expert:  Chris replied 1 year ago.

Ok good. Now when you crank the engine, does the other wire pulse on and off?

Chris

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

yes. other wire does pulse

Expert:  Chris replied 1 year ago.

Then you should have spark. Is the coil wire good?

Chris

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

coil wire is good. I think i might have something not right in my distributor. I'm going to take apart distributor and take a look

Expert:  Chris replied 1 year ago.

Ok let me know what you find. Make sure that the rotor is on correctly.
