Customer Question

WE HAVE A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN WITH A 3.6L ENGINE. THE PROBLEM IS OVER CHARGING AT 17 VOLTS. WE HAVE REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR 3 TIMES , AND A BRAND NEW BATTERY. STILL OVER CHARGING AT 17 VOLTS. REPLACED PCM, THINKING THE ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE WAS REGULATED BY THE PCM, AND STILL CHARGING AT 17 VOLTS. ANY IDEAS?

Good afternoon and welcome to JustAnswer!!!

The PCM does in fact control the charging for the vehicle and if it's overcharging then it should have also set some DTC's or codes.. Do you know what codes it's setting? Also what's the last 8 of your VIN so I can get a wiring diagram for the charging system?
