Customer Question

We have a 2005 diesel. It won't start without ether and then it won't idle. We've replaced everything to do with air and fuel and sent the computer off and had it checked. Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!
Low output from the transfer pump, a weak high pressure pump or leaking limit valve on the fuel rail will cause a hard start or no start without starting fluid, but leaking/worn injectors is the cause of this nearly 100% of the time.
What parts specifically have been replaced?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Fuel rail, fuel pump in the tank, injector pump has been checked and serviced, fuel filter, crank sensor and CAM sensor checked, a fuel relief valve, and the mechanic said he checked the injectors. Thank you! What do you think it will cost to replace the injectors.

I doubt the injectors were checked correctly. Do you know what specifically was done?
