What is the actual fuel psi when your cranking? Also is the check engine light on?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No check engine light
Don't know the fuel PSI
Expert:  -Brad- replied 1 year ago.

Hard starting is usually a fuel supply issue.. And the only way to verify this is to attach a fuel psi gauge and see if it's around 48 psi on startup...

Let me know what readings you get

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It starts really good then just idles down to a stall.
Expert:  -Brad- replied 1 year ago.

Can you keep it running by giving it throttle?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No I tried that it stalls
Expert:  -Brad- replied 1 year ago.

If it still tried to slowly stall it's likely a fuel psi issue.. You will need to attach a fuel psi gauge to the rail to monitor the pressure to verify..

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
rail is where
Expert:  -Brad- replied 1 year ago.

The fuel rail is the part that all your fuel injectors are attached to.. It has a scrader valve on it to attach the fuel psi gauge..

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
can I get this fuel pressure gage at an auto parts store & does the gage just screw in or on to this valve.
Expert:  -Brad- replied 1 year ago.

Yes that is correct.. And most stores will allow you to rent the tool and bring it back instead of buying it to use 1 time..

If the fuel psi is below 48 psi then I would suggest replacing the fuel pump..
