Customer Question

Greetings. Dodge Caliber 2.0 litre diesel 2006. I have a problem which on the face of it seems like a starter motor. But...turned vehicle on last week and completely dead. But single red light showed in 12 o'clock position on dial....no lights, nothing. Connected to a charger. Once we got the charger correctly fixed, lights etc all came on. Turned key and tried to start, but no joy. It seemed as if the juice was draining away. I could not hear any turnover at al, just a short noise as the starter motor goes and then deis. I have heard that there may be an issue with the alarm/theft sytem
system
This is a Uk model, stuck in an underground carpark in Belgium!

Hello, welcome and thanks for asking your question. My name is***** a Certified Auto Technician with 27+ years experience. I will do my best to assist you. please keep in mind that I may need to ask questions of you before I can answer. When you reply please feel free to add as much detailed information as possible pertaining to your concern.
I have a couple questions before I have an answer...
1 - Has the battery ever been replaced?
2 - If so, how long ago?
3 - When you charged the battery, how long did you charge it for?
4 - Did you have the battery "load tested" after you charged it?
lastly, how many amps does your battery charger put out?
Keep me posted...
Thank you,
Robert
