Dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.2: 95 dodge ram 1500 5.2 egr model. no

Customer Question

95 dodge ram 1500 5.2 egr model. no start...has spark from high tension lead and at spark plugs...switched out asd and fuel pump relay to check. asd and fuel pump relay ok. fuel pump turns on then off after few seconds at key on..no movement of tach needle when cranking. changed cam position sensor, cap, rotor. Does nop tach needle movement mean crank position sensor is dead? Thought bad crank sensor would produce a no spark situation. Confused.....

Hello and welcome!
My name isCustomerand I can assist you with your question.
If the engine has spark when cranking, then the cam and crank sensor should be good.
In addition, if the engine has spark when cranking it should run on starting fluid. Does it?
If the engine does run on starting fluid, then we just have a fuel delivery concern. Your next step would be to check fuel pressure and injector pulse.
If the engine has spark but does not run on starting fluid, then the engine is out of time.
Please check to see if the engine runs on starting fluid.
