Trying to replace the power steering rack on my 01 Durango

Customer Question

Trying to replace the power steering rack on my 01 Durango 4x4 4.7l. Have it all free, but unable to angle it out enough to release the steering shaft, am I going to have to remove the intermediate shaft to get them apart?

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I have noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here.

Once the bolt is removed from the steering coupler at the shaft you should be able to pry it up and off. The coupler and shaft should slide back enough to get the clearance you need. See the steps in the links below.
