Dakota: 2000 Dodge Dakota - Wipers, radio and turn signals

This answer was rated:

2000 Dodge Dakota - Wipers, radio and turn signals all stopped working at same time. I drove the truck to take care of business and when I returned the truck started fine but no wipers, radio or turn signals. All fuses for above are ok. battery cable connections are clean and tight, battery voltage in acceptable range. Pulled neg. battery cable to reset system but problem still exists. Have had no problem with any of the above until now.

Hello I'm Paul and I will help you with an Answer to your Question

all the systems that have gone out are fed by the same wire from the Ignition Switch

I am attaching the wiring diagram for the power distribution circuit that shows this

Click here to view power Distribution Circuit

in diagram 2 on the right side of ignition switch you will see the Black Wire with White Stripe...(G)

this wire feeds Fuse #10 , #6 , #8 and #15 (as seen in diagram 3)

you need to test for power into the ignition switch on the Red Wire and the Pink With Black

if you have power coming into the switch but no power to the Black with White stripe with the key in the RUN (On position) the Ignition switch has failed

I would suspect the Ignition switch is bad but run the above test to confirm
