The power door locks keep locking and unlocking even when the truck is turned off (they are supposed to automatically lock when the truck reaches 15 mph; child safety feature). Until I can get it to my mechanic next week I need to disable this feature, my question is what fuze controls this? I have a 2001 Dakota Sport Quad Cab with the 3.9 Liter V8 engine (and 150K miles on it).
Optional Information: Year: 2001 Make: Dodge Engine: 3.9 L V8 Already Tried: pulling some fuzes
The problem is the door lock actuator .Which door is the issue ?
mainly the driver's door but all four doors lock and unlock at times.
Yes thats what I figured the driver actuator give the signal to the other doors and once this shorts out .So replacing the drivers door lock actuator will fix this issue. It will run about 150 parts and labor .This is what needs to be checked next for this issue .Please rate excellent service so I get credit for my help anything lower then ok service gives me negative feedback and I do not get compensated for my time thanks . If you need further assistance just let me know.
Can I pull a certain fuze that will disable this so I can drive it? I had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop
You can disconnect the door lock switch when you remove the drivers door lock switch.Another common issue thats shorts out and causes this issue is a faulty Central Timer Module. The link will show you how to test this.ClickHereHoped this helped. Please rate excellent service so I get credit for my help anything lower then ok service gives me negative feedback and I do not get compensated for my time thanks .
