I feel friction in engine noise like it is not working well when the my dodge charger RT 2010 runs in 'ECO' mode. Also the car does not pick up quickly if i try to use all 8 cylinders from the first gear. Also the front left wheel vibrates if i gently press brakes to slow down the car when it is running at around 50-60 mph. Please help in diagnosing the problem. thanks. Ahsan.
Welcome to just answer.com. I'm here to help you and your 100% satisfaction is my goal. From your description this sounds like the brakes are not releasing completely possibly you have a defective or faulty brake caliper or clogged brake hose this would explain your brake vibration and also your lack of power, drive the vehicle for a while to get hot then jack up the vehicle and see if all four wheels spin freely or not? If any of the wheels are dragging then inspect the brake calipers to see if they are seized up or not releasing completely
But what about feeling friction in engine while running in ECO mode? Also, i got complete brake service and changed genuine chrysler parts like break pads. Also the tires are new and balancing and alignment is also done recently.
Explain to me what you mean exactly by friction .
I mean that engine doesnt run smooth as before or as it is running when the car runs on V8. When it is running on ECO (means running in V4), the engine sound feels like there is friction or it may be it is not receiving the exact power to run (although the sound is not high). Further, I dont receive any kind of error message. I think that it is the transmission that creates problem during shift changes because it jerks a little sometimes. thanks.
yes when you select eco you will notice a difference in the performance and the way the engine runs .. Using a scan tool monitor the data and see if there are any misfires showing up while it runs rough
what if there are misfires while it is running on eco? what could be the possible cause for this?
Possibly a bad fuel injector or faulty ignition coil let me know what you find
