how do i get the rear rotor off 2005 grand caravan
Optional Information: Year: 2005 Make: Dodge Model: grand caravan Already Tried: penetrating oit hit with hammer
Hello, My name isXXXXX will do my best to assist you with your questionthere is no trick to offer per sayIt sounds like it is corroded or kind of fused between hub and rotorAs long as caliper is off, any clips that the factory put over some lug studs are cut off and thrown out, all thats left is penetrant and hitting hardYou want to use a product like PB Blaster. be sure to spray around each and every lug stud.be sure the clips are not on the studs, if not, let soak for good bit, spray some more. Then,, you want to focus your hitting with large hammer on the FACE for the rotor meaning right between each of the lug studs. Hit over and over between different studsAt some point it will break freeRarer but in say 1/50 we have to use a torch and heat up the area between the studs to help break free2 steps, all there is;'
what is pb blaster and is their a tool i can use to pull it off because their really no room to trike it between the stud with out damaging them
Well, PB Blaster is very common lube found at near all parts stores and even Walmart. Best we have found and we use often.I realize room is tight but,, hitting theface is the clue.. You have to try and hit straight and even best you can betwwen the studs on the face
sorry last question do the rotor puller work
Yes, noThe problem is you will be pulling on then outside edges. You WILL bend or warp the rotor doing this. IF? you are repalceing them? then ok, if reusing ? then no do not do thisTo date? I have not had a rotor not come of by lube and hitiing so you may? want to focus more on this or yes,, try a puller
