My 2001 Dodge Ram starts blowing hot air when I apply breaks moderately. Turning it off and on several times will get it to work again. When this occurs I hear a closing sound as if a hatch or door is slamming shut. Please help. It's 100 degrees here.

Hello welcome to JustAnswer, My name is XXXX XXX I will be assisting you. Your blend door(Hot-Cold) is broken.. When you apply the brakes it closes forward and you can hear it hit the HVAC housing.. It is pictured here:

And to replace it you will need to remove the dash and remove the entire HVAC to disassemble, to replace..
