I have a 1996 B2500 van. The following problem just occured in the last few days. With theheadlight switch fully in the on position the headlights work but the dash lights and taillights do not. If I pull the switch out about half way the dash & taillights work but the headlights don't. In either case the brake lights and turn signals operate.I assumed the switch was bad so I replaced it but still have the problem. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.ThanksGeorge

Welcome to just answer.com. I'm here to help you and your 100% satisfaction is my goal. From your description it sounds like you've either lost of power feed to the headlight switch or you're losing the power going to the taillights when you turn the headlight switch on all the way, you may have a defective headlight switch what terminals at the switch have power all the time and what terminals at the switch have power when the switch is pulled all the way out?
