i have a 2003 dodge ram 3500 diesel. it recently threw engine code p0088 which i found out was the rail pressure sensor. i just replaced the sensor and it still will not start, and acts like it isnt getting fuel. wat can i do to fix it?

Welcome to Just Answer. We are working on a fast accurate answer Based on the info you have provided. Your time and my time are both Very important.
ok thank you
It can be the fuel control acuator also.
The Fuel Control Actuator (FCA ) is an electronically controlled solenoid valve. The ECM controls the amount of fuel that enters the high-pressure pumping chambers by opening and closing the FCA based on a demanded fuel pressure. When the FCA is opened, the maximum amount of fuel is being supplied to the fuel injection pump. Any fuel that does not enter the injection pump is directed to the cascade overflow valve. The cascade overflow valve regulates how much excess fuel is used for lubrication of the pump and how much is returned to the fuel tank through the drain manifold.
An audible click from the FCA is normal when operating the key from the ON to the OFF position
The Fuel Control Actuator (FCA) is located at the rear of the high-pressure, fuel injection pump (Fig. 13).
INSTALLATION
click here for image make sure electrical connection and wires seem tight and clean. 25 percent of the time its connection or a bad wire. The actuator is the first thing to check out on this code.
If there is anything else you need to ask please just let me know. I dont believe i have let you get a word in edge wise lol.
thank you, i didnt know wat was wrong with it, i calld a local oreillys and they said if i disconnected the battery then it could have had a security lock on it and shut the fuel off
You will have a security light on if so. You are very welcome. You may find its just unplugged a bit. I am hoping for the best case scenario for you.
thank you very much, one more question if it aint to much, is there nething else it could be if the actuator is ok?
Just wiring. or connection. the worse case scenario would be a bad pcm. power train control module. But Highly douptful. and isnt considered until actuator is replaced.
You can ask all you want. so far I know what I am talking about. lol
You cant reply to much at all. and if you have any question later you can reply after accept.
ok haha, so if i check the actuator and it still doin the same thing, would it throw a pcm engine code if the pcm is bad?
No problem and no additional accept needed.
Not always but wire need to be checked end to end from pcm to sensor to actuator for breaks or bad connection or damage.
ok thank you, i will try that n see wat happens
Thats when it gets fun. fixing a issue when sensor isnt showing an error.
you are very welcome.
Clicking on accept helps me as I have helped you with expertise time and resources. follow up if needed even after accept as all my customers are welcome too.
Im not sure if there was a issue in chat. Did you have any others questions? Just let me know.Thank youDaniel
