I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 (SRW). with a 6.7L diesel engine. Currently i am experiencing issues with short timespans between fuel filter replacements. I can go about 7-8K between changes. Most every other deisel owner i know can go 15-20K before changes. If i do not change the fiter this early my fuel economy goes from 19.7 down to 14.5-15.2 MPG Highway. This being a significant drop, is ther a better fuel filter or system on the market you would reccommend? Bruce xxxxxx
Ok well chrysler or more so Mopar offer a fuel filter upgrade kit for heavy duty filtering. Here is the TSB with all the part numbers you will need to do the conversion. Click here for TSB. Also note the the fuel you may be buying could be excessively dirty as well. But this should correct the concern you are having. Also the filter needs to be changed every 400 engine hours as well so if you do alot of idling then this will make it seem like you are changing it alot when infact you are just hitting the engine hour mark to change it.
can you give me the link, after i accepted your answer the link would not upload.
