Are you sure you have a 2002? The 4.7 was not an available engine in the 2002 and also the 4.7 does not have plug wires it uses COP (coil on plug) ignition system

Actually I am sorry the 4.7 was available in your year I was looking at the 2500 for some reason. A very common problem for a surge and stall on your vehicle is a failing TPS (throttle position sensor). The TPS starts to send erratic signals to the PCM and it cause it to surge and over fuel which will cause a stall out. You will need to start with replacing the TPS on your vehicle
