Dodge Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello and welcome to JustAnswer.
My name is Vladimir.
It sounds that you have a problem with your ignition key that contains a chip inside. When you insert the key into the lock cylinder and turn it, the SKIM ( Sentry Key Immobilizer module) reads your key and if it does not recognize the key, it won't allow engine to start. There is not any special procedure to reset or deactivate the system. You may try to use your remote, but I think you should have your SKIM system diagnosed to find what is wrong.
