david :

Hi thank you for your question hope this helps.

p0601 internal controller failure
p0725 engine speed sensor circuit
p0888 relay output always off (TCM Power Control Relay Sensor Circuit).

Check the wiring harness going to the transmission and to the relay, as well as the ground straps to the engine and transmission.
I have seen where the the ground to the EATX will have low resistance. Easy way to fix is to run a wire directly from the ground of the EATX to the battery.

I have found the cause for this problem is a defective transmission speed sensor.

A code P0601 in most cases means the PCM has gone bad. This is possibly due to a short-circuit inside the PCM. Or, if you disconnect the wires/connector from the PCM while the battery is still connected, that may also cause this code.

Possible Solutions

With a P0601 OBD-II trouble code, the most common fix is to replace and reprogram the PCM.

Many of customers have reported that they cleared the code only for it to return again and again. Keep in mind that most shops can replace the PCM But not all can program it.
