where is the thermostat on a 2004 durango with 5.7 hemi and how difficult to change

Hello I will help you with your question,

 

The thermostat is buried behind the accessory bracket above the water pump. The upper radiator hose attach's to the thermostat housing. It can be a bear to change unless you have an angle grinder with an extension drive to hold a 2" scotch pad to remove the old gasket material.If you do not have this capability the bracket will need to be removed as the procedure below shows.
