Hello and Welcome to JustAnswer,

My name is XXXXX XXXXX I am here to try and assist your with your question. Is the backfire coming from the exhaust or the intake?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
exaust
Expert:  brownjeff replied 6 years ago.
Do you have any exhaust leaks?

Have you done a compression test on the engine?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
no leaks and no i have not done a compression test i dont know what that is
Expert:  brownjeff replied 6 years ago.
Normally a backfire through the exhaust is do to an exhaust leak or an exhaust valve not seating correctly. A compression test or leak down test would tell us if there is an exhaust valve problem as it will tell us mechanically what shape the engine is in.
