Dodge 2008 how do i reset my factory anti theft system on

Resolved Question:

How do I reset my factory anti theft system on my 2008 Dodge Caliber? I have my put key in ignition & it just locks. It just clicks.I have a blinking red LED on my lower left side of steering column.I played with my remote keyless entry unlocking & locking but no use! help me!! I even held both the unlock & lock buttons at same time but nothing happens!

it sounds to me like you have an aftermarket system on your caliber

sounds like its coming from ignition area & headlights just turn on.

what's an aftermarket system?

i called dodge & they said it was a factory made anti theft system

an aftermarket alarm, is just an alarm system that is not a factory item that someone had installed,

well dodge actually gave me ta 800 hundred number 2 calll & they said they make only blue & green LED's... so he said it must be factory made

ok, it is the factory antitheft.

does your keyless entry work?

yea it locks unlocks... but it isnt making the honking noise like it usually does it makes a clicking sound

that instrument cluster was in my manual but i didnt know how to greset it

ok, what youll need to try is disconnecting the battery for approx 10 seconds and then try and start it

ok how do i disconnect it? lol

if it starts after disconnecting the battery the wireless control module will need replace, this can only be done at a dodge dealer. there is actually a tsb that has us technicians replacing this module due to this symptom from the module electronically locking up

on the caliber if i remember correctly youll see a plastic piece under the hood that says for battery access turn these to plastic fasteners to remove the air intake, once thats out of the way then take a 10 mm wrench loosen the negative terminal nut and lift the terminal off the battery

idk if it had 2 do with me accidently leaving the hazards on earlier from bumpin em on cuz after i loosened em the hazards started blinking when i re connected it

no, i still think the wcm needs replaced and was locked up

i just think from whatever tested you have done and lights being on it has drained the battery down
