hello and welcome to just answer
thank u for responding
where is the led located at?
lower left side on my steering column
and also where do you here the clicking coming from when trying to start?
it sounds to me like you have an aftermarket system on your caliber
sounds like its coming from ignition area & headlights just turn on.
what's an aftermarket system?
i called dodge & they said it was a factory made anti theft system
an aftermarket alarm, is just an alarm system that is not a factory item that someone had installed,
can you upload a picture of the led?
well dodge actually gave me ta 800 hundred number 2 calll & they said they make only blue & green LED's... so he said it must be factory made
what should i do?
gimme a sec
no problem, ill know once i see it if its factory or not and i dont want to give you the wrong info, so i appreciate you getting me a picture
how do i send 2 u?
r u there?
sorry i took so long
ok sorry im here
look above where you type, theres a little icon of a tree, click that to upload it here, once you click on it, there will be a box come up click browse, then another will pop up and you click browse again, then you can search and find the file on your computer and double click on it and click ok then insert and reply
let me do it
jus a sec
ok i got it, thats actually in the instrument cluster correct?
yea it is
i read something bout that in my manual
i just cant figure it out
ok, it is the factory antitheft.
does your keyless entry work?
yea it locks unlocks... but it isnt making the honking noise like it usually does it makes a clicking sound
that instrument cluster was in my manual but i didnt know how to greset it
** reset it**
ok, what youll need to try is disconnecting the battery for approx 10 seconds and then try and start it
ok how do i disconnect it? lol
if it starts after disconnecting the battery the wireless control module will need replace, this can only be done at a dodge dealer. there is actually a tsb that has us technicians replacing this module due to this symptom from the module electronically locking up
but u were hvery helpful
how do i disconect it
on the caliber if i remember correctly youll see a plastic piece under the hood that says for battery access turn these to plastic fasteners to remove the air intake, once thats out of the way then take a 10 mm wrench loosen the negative terminal nut and lift the terminal off the battery
sorry it took so long, lol, that was alot of typing
wow ur real helpful
can u wait for me 2 run outside & try it?
ok quickcar im back
but ummm.... it started to turnover & stopped
ok, do you have a battery charger or jumpstarter?
it sounds like you have a low battery
idk if it had 2 do with me accidently leaving the hazards on earlier from bumpin em on cuz after i loosened em the hazards started blinking when i re connected it
the lights turned on
it honked when i unlocked &locked the doors
so is it a low battery
or do i loosen it the bolt a lil longer?
no, i still think the wcm needs replaced and was locked up
i just think from whatever tested you have done and lights being on it has drained the battery down
ok so try to jump it
& still no stat then forget it & get it towed?
unfortunately that is correct
*** & if still no luck starting tow it 2 the dealer**???
yes because they are the only ones that can replace the wcm
thank u S0O0O0OO0O0OO0O0O0O0O0O0O0O0O MUCCCHHHHHHHH!
ok got you
so jump it
no problem, if you need anything else dont hesitate to ask
either way gotta get it to the dealer some how huh?
yeah but if jumping it allows it to start, that will save you a tow bill.
yeah i know
so wish me luck with that part
i think itll start right yp
thanks 4 dat encouragement
my car needed it
no problem, i have actually replaced several wcm's for this exact problem at the dealer i work for .
i never looked at ur stats... r u a master mechanic?
