2004 dodge stratus: oil leak..smokes..the head gasket that..smell

Customer Question

I have a 2004 dodge stratus that has a oil leak and the engine smokes. We beleive it is the head gasket that needs to be replaced? We are adding oil every couple of days, but there is a smell like something is burning and the engine smokes.

The smell could just be from the oil leaking on the exhust and if this is a 2.4 and the head gasket is leaking on the exhust manifold this could be why you see it smoking as well. You will need to clean the oil off of it and then run it so you can see where the leak is coming from.
