99 Dodge 25000 with a 5.9 cummings, will not charge, will not get overdrive. Ive tried everything to get it to charge and it will not. new alternator, new computer, checked all wiring. ive replaced the ecm and bcm.

Have you checked the 140 amp "Gen" fuse in the PDC?

 

Would you like a nice wiring diagram of the charging system?

yes it has been checked. wiring diagram couldnt hurt.

It's a pretty basic system and it looks like you have replaced everything in the system, so i would ohm out the wires and check to be sure power is going to and thru the PDC block at that 140 amp fuse. Also the green field wire from the pcm to the gen might be a problem, the pcm "triggers" the field windings in the alt thru this wire.

the power (signal) is not coming out of the computer but i have installed the computer in another truck and it worked in that truck so i know that it is not the computer.

Is there power at the dk green wire at the alt when in crank mode?
