This answer was rated:

I'm aware that some 5.7 hemi engines break valve springs. I'm about to buy a used truck and was wondering if there is a year model after which there ceases to be this problem?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

The earliest engines were the ones that had more valvespring problems. Although it could happen to any engine, the ones that were most prone to breaking valvesprings were the 2003 engines and I've also seen some 2004's. Revised valvesprings were released pretty early on and the later engines didn't cause too many problems.
