I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, Im removing the heater box,

Resolved Question:

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, I'm removing the heater box, one or more of the doors in the box are broken.
Heat comes out of the right side and at the same time its blowing cold air out of the driver side.
To remove the dash does it only come out in pieces. Some of the srcrews are not accessible. And I'm trying to figure out how they assembled it in order to remove.

What my concern is, how do I remove the screws that the duct work is screwed to?

Do I have to pay each time I ask a question?

Expert:  Dodge expert replied 7 years ago.

no you pay me once i am here as long as you need me

is it against the fire wall that its stuck?

Customer: replied 7 years ago.

The dash is loose for the most part, it still is attached in the center, there are ducts which come through for your defrost, the screws are on either side of the duct which I can not access.

Also the steel tub which run across the cab needs to be removed, in order remove the heater box, what is the trick if any?

Just a little insight I repair Fire Trucks, this looks like 10 lbs stuffed into a 5 lbs. container

Expert:  Dodge expert replied 7 years ago.

ok the steel support tube should stay mountedd to the cab ,

and most times the screws for the defroster there are small decorative plugs that you have to pry out to access the screws

Customer: replied 7 years ago.

Not in this case these screws there is no access from the top side.

The steel support tube has a frame structure that drops down in front of the heater box, which mounts to the floor. This frame is welded to the tube.

Do I have to drain the coolant an dbreak the a/c system?

Once I accept is our corispodence over.

Expert:  Dodge expert replied 7 years ago.

yes you have to drain both the coolant and the ac

and no after you accept i am still here as long as you need me

the welded steel tube stays put but if theres no screws then it has a push in spring clip the slips out when you pull back on the dash pad
