dodge: ram..slip..Synthetic..additive but it feels like a rear end

Resolved Question:

I have a dodge 2500 ram with a limited slip rear axle, I have binding or shudder problem when backing up or making tight turns. The fluid has been replaced twice with Synthetic 75W-90 and the problem goes away for a while but comes back after a few thousand miles. I know it doesn't require a additive but it feels like a rear end that needs it.

Actually a limited slip diff or Trac-Lok needs the additive

NOTE: Trac-Lok® differentials require Limited Slip Additive in the lubricant. Trac-RiteTM / Trac-Rite ELTM differentials DO NOT require Limited Slip Additive

Try that little bottle of additive before going any further. At this point it cannot hurt since you've already spent the time and money to change out the fluid twice.

Any particular type from a NAPA or PEP Boys.

I don't know what these stores have available. I would say anything that is approved by Chrysler would be best. I only use the recommended lube from Chrysler since that is where I work.
