dodge durango: suv..trailer to pull..hooked..turn signals work

Customer Question

I have a SUV dodge durango and a trailer to pull behind it I have hooked up the lights. The turn signals work but the break lights does not. What am I doing wrong?
The trailer is 4'X6'
it is a reese hitch
I connected the brown wire from the hitch cable to the red cable off the lights.
I also tried to connect it to the black/green one, and red and white stripe one still nothing.
I tried looking at the fuse under the hood, however In the spot where I thought it would be there is not a fuse. and yes my breaks on the SUV are still working.
I am not sure what other information I can give you, but I would really like the help :)
Thank you for your time

my father tried to connect the wiring from the rear lights, I am now trying to fix what he tried to do :)
I am not sure what you are talking about with dealership and fuse. I was just looking at my manual and following the wires. If you could help me from there I would understand more.

are you connecting to the four way adaptor under the vehicle in the back?

Customer replied 1435 days and 10 hours ago.

If you are talking about the connector cord that comes with the kit yes. It is connected to the wires by a blue plastic piece that has two holes 9 one in each end) and a silver prong in the middle. It snaps shut. The cord is split the green wire is attached to the right rear light the white is attached to a bolt on the hitch. The brown ( the one I am having trouble with) is connected to the left red wire behind the rear light. and the yellow is connected to the left side behind the rear light as well. The only one that is not working according to the chart that came in package is the break light wire. I can not see when applying the break. The turn signals work. I have the brown wire from hitch kit connected to red wire on the left rear light.
