Hello and welcome to Just Answer Dodge. a 2500 is rated for 3/4 ton. So you can safely haul 1500 lbs in the trucks bed. Hope this answers your question, and if so please click on the accept button. Thank you!

will it hurt it to carry 2200 lbs
Expert:  Chris replied 8 years ago.

It probably won't hurt the truck, but you will be going over the limits of the braking system, suspension, tires, etc. If you are not going far, and pay attention to stopping distances, speed, etc. you will probably be ok. However this is not an endorsement from me to do this. Hope this answers your question, and if so please click the accept button.

Thanks,

Yes, there are overload springs, air bag type springs, etc. Start your search by checking out some RV web sites. They may have some links to manufactures dealing with this.
