2001 DODGE CARAVAN: WHAT NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED

I HAVE CODES P0605 AND P0700 THAT HAVE SET MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. YET MY 2001 DODGE CARAVAN SEEM TO RUN FINE. WHAT NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED TO FIX PROBELM AND KEEP LITE OFF. IF POSSIBLE WHAT WOULD SUCH REPAIR COST. CAN IT BE DONE. WITHOUT GOING TO A DEALER. THANK YOU

Hi. the p0700 means that there is a code stored in the transmission controller, and the P0605 is the one stored in the trans controller. P0605 is an internal failure in the trans controller. It has failed one of its own self tests in its RAM memory, and needs to be replaced. If you are not having problems yet, you probably will be. The van will go into limp in, where you only have second gear. Once the controller is replaced it has to be calibrated with a dealer scan tool before the speedometer will work.
