Hi. Does this noise come from one of the wheel well areas, or does it come from under the hood?

Customer: replied 8 years ago.

The noise comes from the wheel areas when I turn the steering wheel to park or sometimes merge into another lane while driving.

Expert:  sprinkles08 replied 8 years ago.
Ok. Your noise could be one of two things. It could be a dry tie rod end or a ball joint. Either of these is a safety issue, you should have the front end looked at as soon as possible, you could lose steering control.

What would be the cost range for these repairs? I realize that this would be an estimate and would appreciate any input you can offer.

It really depends on what it is and what brand of parts you use. Aftermarket parts will be much much cheaper. Aftermarket tie rod ends run about $20 each for these, you will need an alignment when done, generally $50-75. The ball joints will be more expensive, you have to replace the control arm to replace it. The lower control arms will run about $150 each aftermarket.
